The original Brooklyn Dancesport Club was created by 11 times United States National Champions,
Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova.
Eugene and Maria have been dancing together since they met in 1993. As Amateur Youth Latin competitors, they were US National Youth Latin Champions (and representatives for the United States at the World Championships ), UK Rising Star Latin Champions, and British Open Under 21 Latin Champions - the first ever US couple to win that title.
As Adult Amateurs, Eugene and Maria were finalists in all the major international championships, and won the US Open Championships, the Masters Gala Trophy, and the IDSF Grand Slam Series Championship. They are perhaps best known for their 11-year undefeated streak as US National Amateur Latin Champions from 1997-2008.
Immediately after turning professional in 2008, Eugene and Maria broke into the final of the British Open, and the following year they became Professional World Latin Championship Finalists.
Eugene and Maria retired from competitive dancing in 2010, and have since opened their dance studio, the Brooklyn Dancesport Club.
Together Eugene and Maria have built the largest community of ballroom dancers in the United States, giving kids and adults a place to learn, achieve results and strive to become better artists and individuals.
